[01:57] [peer] ROFL!
[02:00] [peer] zEkE, What you think, Brushed Alum. on the sides and Tread Alum Plate on the front?

[02:08] [peer] Ok 10 gage is 121
[02:09] [peer] Actually...
[02:09] [zEkE|Macbook] i bought a 2' x 4' MDF board today

[02:09] [peer] Looks pretty good...
[02:09] [peer] BUT it IS HEAVY!!!!
[02:09] [Ninex] bet that runs quieter than aluminum
[02:10] [peer] And the drive gages arent in it..
[02:10] [peer] The alum would hold up as good ...
[02:10] [peer] And wonder vibrate like you think..
[02:10] [peer] wouldnt
[02:11] [peer] 4 x 4 in 10 gage alum tread is 65
[02:12] [peer] Which might actually be enough
[02:12] [Tarcas] Good timing, Peer.
[02:12] [peer] LOL
[02:13] [peer] We can go copper and I can braze it.. .
[02:13] [peer] 4 x 3'8" is 659
[02:13] [peer] lol
[02:13] [Tarcas] You'd probably want to put some foam spacers in there to dampen the vibration from the fans and HDDs
[02:13] [Tarcas] I am NOT paying $700 for a PC case.
[02:13] [Tarcas] I'd be happy to pay a tenth that.
[02:13] *** Ninex makes a box out of plywood
[02:14] [peer] Actually, I thought I might put alum brackets and make the cages out of 10 gage and rivet them in...
[02:14] [Tarcas] Actually, Ninex, if you stain it that could look pretty sweet too.
[02:14] [Jonfun] My brother just built a box.
[02:14] [Ninex] the brackets might rattle a little bit. would have to make sure they're secure.
[02:14] [Tarcas] peer, the best thing to do might be to find an old case and just cover it with the plate.
[02:14] [peer] Prolly right Tarcas
[02:15] [Tarcas] That way you don't have to worry about the specs, you just leave the business parts alone.

[02:17] [Ninex] theres no way it could flash that kind of memory at it's peak speed
[02:18] [Kacey] nite guys
[02:18] [Jonfun] Later Kacey. Have a nice evening.
[02:18] [Tarcas] DDR3 isn't worth it yet. The hit for the protocol isn't made up for in the barely-boosted bus speeds last I heard.

[02:19] [Jonfun] The Intel 7 has not FSB.
[02:19] [Jonfun] no*
[02:19] [Tarcas] How do you have no FSB?
[02:19] [Jonfun] Apparently the new Intel sevens don't.
[02:19] [Tarcas] Run everything out of cache and treat the RAM as another bulk storage device?
[02:19] [Ninex] that seems ineffective
[02:20] [Tarcas] quite
[02:20] [peer] Yea
[02:20] [peer] Limited maybe?
[02:20] [Ninex] nah, it's gotta flash it in and out somehow
[02:20] [Tarcas] The point of the FSB is that it's so much faster than any of the other buses. If you lose that, you're limiting yourself pretty seriously.
[02:20] [Ninex] they probably gave it a new name. like. "HyperThreading"
[02:20] [Tarcas] LOL @ hypersucking.
[02:21] [Ninex] it's good to buy high end, just don't buy out of the class of support, or reason.
[02:21] [Tarcas] The feature which claims to boost your speeds and actually acts as additional brakes.
[02:21] [Ninex] you'll wind up looking down the barrel of a voodoo 3
[02:22] [Tarcas] I like sticking with low-end, after it's gone through all the price cuts.
[02:22] [Ninex] I like buying bigger, but not like, prototype big.

[02:27] [Tarcas] I don't know if they would be listed on the website, but they should definitely be public records. Obituaries would also be a source of the same information if your local paper has an online archive.

[04:18] [Kharak] Hrm...
[04:18] [Lori] Yes, its Lori
[04:18] [Lori] lOL
[04:18] [Lori] Hi Kharak
[04:18] [Kharak] 2009 is opening to a bang.
[04:19] [Skid] What blew up?
[04:20] [Kharak] Evidently, aid convoys to the Gaza region have been stopped after several incidents.
[04:20] [Kharak] As much as technology is supposed to prevent it, friendly fire is plaguing the region.
[04:21] [Skid] Palistinians using the abulances to transport troops again?
[04:21] [Skid] ambulances*
[04:21] [Kharak] No, they were UN aid convoys.
[04:22] [Kharak] Not that Hamas is motorized.
[04:22] [Kharak] They are uniquely silent in this conflict, all Israeli casualties have been from friendly fire on press releases.
[04:23] [Skid] Well, there have been some videos of varying trustworthiness that show armed people riding in UN ambulances.
[04:25] [Kharak] Hardly convincing enough: Under current rules, return fire would dictate that rather than the wonderful intelligence arme of the IDF.
[04:25] [Kharak] I almost believe that Hamas is allowing the IDF to go into Gaza for the pure sake of being the villain for the populace.
[04:25] [Skid] Quite.
[04:26] [Kharak] The previous conflict in Lebanon illustrated that the IDF had issues with mass urban invasions.
[04:26] [Skid] They know they can manipulate Israel into breaking various rules of combat and get not trouble from it, not matter how many they have broken themselves.
[04:26] [Kharak] And Hamas has made such a impressive rocket stockpile too.
[04:26] [Kharak] Hamas is in trouble, no one cares for it, but the IDF cannot handle the situation.
[04:27] [Skid] Why did Israel think it a good idea to hand that area over to them anyway?
[04:27] [Kharak] Egypt of all countries despises Hamas.
[04:27] [Kharak] They didn't: They thought that the elections would end favorably after building the infamous Jerusalem "Berlin Wall" and tightening security.
[04:27] [Kharak] It's like expecting the Warsaw Jews of old to allow themselves to be "disappeared"
[04:29] [Kharak] Treating an entire population as prisoners, animals even, and expecting them to tolerate a regime is highly juvenile.
[04:31] [Skid] They are supplying them with practically all of their resources free, that water and power that Gaza is now going without out was coming at Israel's expense and safety. Those towns at the border which hold the power plants are the same ones that are being attacked with rockets.
[04:32] [Kharak] Not that I can say the rocket attacks are particulary potent, but the water in Gaza is rather bad and the power is intermentent.
[04:32] [Kharak] Though most Arabic societies go with free electricity: It's a cultural phenomenon which has resulted in mediocre infrastructures regardless.
[04:32] [Skid] But still, giving free electricity to the same guy who shoots at you every day doesn't seem like an agreeable thing to do.
[04:33] [Kharak] Hamas is not the same as the Palestinian people. I do not see how school-children play into this.
[04:33] [Kharak] That Hamas cannot be lured out and isolated is a poor strategy on the IDF's part. They do not see a difference.
[04:34] [Skid] THey currently rule and have control. The school children only do what they tell them too.
[04:34] [Kharak] Hamas has little control, that they attempt to state that is percipitating an illusion.
[04:34] [Skid] They escort their rocket platforms with kids to prevent targeting by Israeli gunships.
[04:35] [Kharak] That no longer appears to be the case in this particular conflict: There are minimal Hamas casualties all around.
[04:35] [Kharak] It is the illusion that they are saturated within the public that is keeping progress at a stand-still.
[04:35] [Skid] THey don't wear uniforms at all thet there is much evidence of, it's kind of hard to prove.
[04:36] [Kharak] The IDF has repeatedly said this.
[04:36] [Skid] Their own propaganda shows it.
[04:36] [Kharak] The Israeli Defense Force has already stated that Hamas casualties are at a pitiful minimum.
[04:37] [Kharak] That they overestimated their strength is a given, but this is not a problem for the organization.
[04:38] [Kharak] The problem was the rockets, but these were minimally effective. Not that this war will stop their production.
[04:39] [Kharak] Recruitment will go up, rocket production will increase and Hamas will come out of its illusion of power and gain support.
[04:39] [Skid] So they could have peace if they simply ceased to fire rockets.
[04:40] snowdrops (~NewJava@uccn-ED312971.hsd1.il.comcast.net) joined #uccn.
[04:42] [Kharak] If Palestine overthrew Hamas, unlikely. The IDF is becoming a bogeyman, and thus the endall for the gang-like faction warfare within Gaza.
[04:42] [Kharak] Why there is not a more effective propaganda campaign within Gaza is a bit of a mystery, though.
[04:43] [Kharak] Remember: The Iberians fought against eachother even during the Reconquista, unless there was an incident.

[04:45] [Skid] True.
[04:46] [Kharak] There needs to be a more effective propaganda campaign, and pacification with Egyptian soldiers rather than the impotent IDF.
[04:47] [Kharak] Taking down the borders would be nice too, as well as establishing a identification network in depth, rather than checkpoints.
[04:47] [Skid] So turning the area of to Egypt?
[04:47] [Skid] over to*
[04:49] [Skid] Would probably work, though the violence would remain as high, just less visible to the outside world.
[04:49] [Kharak] Temporarily. Egypt is quite popular among Arabs, especially after its Yom Kippur war gains.
[04:49] [Kharak] Except among the extremist Muslim Brotherhood, but they have (brutally) suppressed them with marginal results.

[18:09] [zEkE] it was an interesting message i heard at one point, where the preacher read those verses, both sets, and asked which were most important
[18:10] [zEkE] the women said the "Husbands, submit to your wives" ones, and the men said the "Wives, submit to your husbands"
[18:10] [peer] My wife said "To Love Honour Cherish and Obey, but she denies saying the Obey part now...

[18:22] [peer] Then about 30 minutes later, the leadman went and told a story on me. Trying to get me in trouble
[18:22] [Purity26380] did it make any difference?
[18:22] [Purity26380] I mean, did you get in trouble?
[18:23] [peer] My supervisor told him, word for word, "I dont care nor do I want to hear it. You know how "Monkey" (my nickname at work) is and you wanted a good welder. I gave you one and you sent him on. Dont ask for anyone else. Ask the other supervisors."
[18:23] [peer] Im a Welder
